Transport Officer Competencies
Graduates who complete this curriculum will be able to:
- Plan, organize, and supervise passenger and commercial vehicle fleets for corporate organizations using internationally recognized fleet management practices.
- Coordinate preventive maintenance, repairs, workshop scheduling, warranty administration, and spare-parts management to maximize fleet availability and reliability.
- Monitor fuel consumption, vehicle utilization, operating costs, and fleet performance using Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), telematics, GPS tracking, and Fleet Management Systems (FMS).
- Ensure compliance with transport laws, vehicle registration, insurance, fitness certification, occupational safety, environmental regulations, and corporate governance requirements.
- Lead and develop transport teams by supervising drivers, coordinating transport schedules, conducting performance evaluations, and promoting safe driving practices.
- Safely inspect, operate, and road-test corporate vehicles while applying defensive driving, eco-driving, and risk management techniques.
- Use modern digital tools, including Microsoft Office, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, Fleet Management Systems (FMS), GPS platforms, dashboards, and cloud-based reporting solutions.
- Communicate effectively in English through meetings, emails, reports, presentations, customer interactions, and discussions with suppliers and international stakeholders.
